Chicago, Ill. — During The Center for Developmental Disabilities Advocacy and Community Supports (The Center) annual meeting in Springfield, Wayne resident Robert J. Molitor was sworn in as a member of the Board of Directors. Molitor is the Chief Operating Officer at Alden Management Services in Chicago.  

4th Annual Alden Special Olympics Fall Games — (October 14, 2011)

Bloomingdale, Ill. —For the past four years, residents of Alden's six Health Facilities for Children and Young Adults have taken great pride in participating in the Special Olympics Illinois-Alden Fall Games for individuals with special needs. The oath of the Special Olympics is "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

Roselle, Ill– Recently, staff, residents and families from Alden Health Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled attended a special ceremony to recognize Special Olympics participants from Alden of Old Town East, Alden of Old Town West, Alden Springs, Alden Trails, Alden Village North and Alden Village.

Local Artist Designs ‘Knock, Knock…I’m Here’ for the Developmentally Disabled — (June 10, 2011)
Chicago, Ill. – Chicago artist Robert Fields drew his inspiration for the low-relief sculpture displayed in the lobby of Alden Village North Health Facility for Children and Young Adults from observing the warm interaction between the North Side facility’s residents and their caregivers.

ALDEN EMPLOYEE INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME — (May 17, 2011)
Chicago, Ill. – Roosevelt High School held its 4th annual RHS Sports Hall of Fame Dinner on May 6. Among those honored and inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame was local resident Guy Tardi, class of 1974.

Chicago, Ill. – Chicago Bulls’ Sidney Green recently visited developmentally disabled children and young adults in Chicago’s Rogers Park community.

ALDEN HOLDS FIRST NURSING SKILLS FAIR — (April 19, 2011)

Addison, Ill. (March 23, 2011) — Over 100 nurses and nurse aides from Alden Rehabilitation and Health Care Centers received comprehensive, hands-on training at Alden’s first Nursing Skills Fair designed to ensure competencies in both basic and advanced clinical nursing skills.
