The Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education (ICRE) held an award celebration on Wednesday, June 1 to thank all of the companies that participated in its volunteer/internship program. Among those honored was Alden Village North’s Activity Director, Brittany Maglaya, pictured here with the two students she sponsored, Violeta De La Torre and Brandon Devonish.
“Having the participation of local companies is essential to allowing our students to gain real-life experience,” says Chuck Billington. “Alden Village North’s willingness to share their expertise in providing care to people with developmental disabilities and other health challenges was an invaluable experience for both Violeta and Brandon.”
Having the assistance of two interns was also a good experience for Alden Village North. “Brandon and Violeta were outstanding interns,” says Brittany. “It’s hard to tell who gained the most from the experience as we all learned so much and got so much out of it.”
